Teen Volunteer Program

Discovery Museum's Teen Volunteer Program is for high school students ages 14 through 18 who are looking for experience working with children, opportunities to complete community service requirements, and the chance to learn and build new skills! This is a public-facing position, with volunteers working directly with our child visitors and their caregivers. Students apply to volunteer for a four-month-long cycle, which provides an opportunity to train at the museum and become comfortable working in a fun, fast-paced environment. Upon completion of the cycle, volunteers will meet with a volunteer supervisor to give and gain feedback; we hope that volunteers decide to continue volunteering at the museum after completion of a cycle.

The aim of our Teen Volunteer Program is to provide valuable work experience and an opportunity to give back to the local community. We look for volunteers who show initiative and enthusiasm for learning new things! In addition to gaining the necessary tools to work with the public, our program helps teen volunteers learn skills such as going through an application and interview process, managing their own schedules, communicating directly with supervisors, and working independently. If you are a teen interested in joining our program, please fill out an application and contact us!

Please note that we require teens themselves to apply to the program; applications or inquiries from parents will not be accepted.

A successful CORI check will be required at the time of offer for anyone 18+.
