MA Service Alliance Awards Grant to Discovery Museum for Volunteer Re-Engagement
Acton, MA – Discovery Museum announced today a $5,000 grant from the Massachusetts Service Alliance in support of the Museum’s work to engage and recognize the many volunteers that participate in its daily operations.
“Our volunteers are the secret sauce that help the Museum run smoothly and create a wonderful and enriching experience for our visitors,” said CEO Neil Gordon. “Massachusetts Service Alliance’s support will help us rebuild the strength of our volunteer program after it necessarily saw a decline due to the pandemic.”
A series of volunteer appreciation and enrichment events, re-starting a beloved volunteer program, and rejuvenated outreach efforts will help the Museum recognize and thank its many volunteers and recruit new ones. The Museum will focus on National Volunteer Week and beyond as an opportunity to support its volunteers.
The grant is part of the MSA’s COVID-19 Recovery Grant program.
